Malini Tanabalan

Malini brings a wealth of experience and strong commercial acumen to her role as Special Counsel at Chamberlains. She holds a Bachelor of Business Management (majoring in Marketing and minoring in Finance) from RMIT University, a Bachelor of Laws from Murdoch University, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice.

Before her admission as a lawyer, Malini worked in the Insolvency & Restructuring department at RSM Bird Cameron, gaining valuable insight into complex financial matters. Since her admission, she has advised on a broad range of corporate, commercial, and financial disputes, often negotiating optimal outcomes for her clients. Her experience also includes managing car hire recovery claims and assisting businesses with refinancing negotiations. In her previous role as a Legal Practice Director, Malini successfully expanded the practice and increased revenue by collaborating with stakeholders and board executives on strategic initiatives.

Malini is fluent in English and Tamil and can converse in basic Mandarin, enabling her to assist a diverse client base.

Outside of work, Malini enjoys experimenting with new recipes, discovering the best coffee and brunch spots, and performing in stage productions as a graduate in Classical Indian Dance.
