Robert McKessar joined Chamberlains on 27 January 2026 as part of the merger with Braye Cragg Solicitors. He brings decades of specialist experience and a strong reputation for clear, strategic and client‑focused advocacy.
Robert is a Special Counsel and an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Economics, and was admitted as a Solicitor in both the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 1983. His extensive background spans workers’ compensation, motor accident and traffic claims, industrial accidents, public liability, product liability, professional indemnity, historical sexual abuse matters, negligence disputes, employment law, and superannuation and insurance claims.
Known for his ability to unravel complex factual and legal issues, Robert approaches each matter like a detailed puzzle, carefully assembling medical, legal, personal and practical information to provide clients with clarity and realistic expectations. Maintaining close oversight of every file, he weighs each decision strategically to secure the best long‑term outcomes. Robert is an active member of the New South Wales Law Society and the Newcastle Law Society. He also serves as Honorary Solicitor for the Stockton Surf Life Saving Club, Stockton Bowling Club and Stockton After School Care.
